Community Garden Program

Community Gardens

Wayne Metro is excited to support local garden initiatives who grow food directly for low-income communities, or donate to local-area food pantries.

This program runs annually between April and October, aimed at fostering healthy individuals and communities.

  • Free seeds
  • Starter plants
  • Support and guidance from knowledgeable Wayne Metro staff

ELIGIBILITY

  • Must have access to a water source
  • Have volunteers to plant, tend and harvest your own crop
  • Produce must be distributed into the local community, or donated to a local food pantry
  • Upon the end of the program, you must complete reporting documents as required by Wayne Metro
